160 free Wi-Fi hotspots open in Paris

paris-wifi.gif35 open-air sites and 70 municipal buildings in Paris and the ‘Ile de France‘ region are now set to offer free, unlimited, wi-fi access to the Internet. These 105 sites are equipped with 160 hotspots and a further 155 public emplacements are scheduled for September, this will take the number of hotspots to around 400.

A few examples of the open-air sites:
Parvis de l’Hôtel de Ville, les Buttes Chaumont, le parc Monceau, le jardin des Halles, la place des Vosges, le parc Georges Brassens, le parc Montsouris….In a large park like les Buttes Chaumont, although there are 8 antennae installed, the park will not be entirely covered.

Among the municipal buildings already equipped: 44 libraries, l’espace des Blancs Manteaux and le Musée d’Art moderne.
