One/two free music sites from Europe

logo-jamendo.gif Jamendo is a free share site where you can listen to over 2000 albums. The jamplayer works well – quick with a relatively good sound considering the hardware in my PC. Like an album? Download it. Then you can make a donation to the band, visit their website, buy the cd or not – as you see fit.

The albums displayed here were mostly French bands but it’s starting to broaden out since the site is now available in English and German with Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Polish in the pipeline.

Sites like this one deserve support. They are good for discovering new music and give bands & musicians who aren’t foolish enough to worry about having their music ripped off – a chance to find listeners and contacts.

radio3net_logo.gifIf you’re not looking for new stuff and would sooner re/discover some old classics then there is a Romanian site Radio3net that was on Digg recently and was down for a while as a consequence (too much traffic). Well its back up and has 1001 ‘albums to listen to before you die’ based on a book by the same name. I’m not sure it’s legal. Anyway it works – with Windows Media Player at least, the albums are downloaded by streaming.

  1. I have been exploring for a bit for any high quality articles or blog posts on this sort of house . Exploring in Yahoo I ultimately stumbled upon this site. Reading this info So i am glad to express that I have an incredibly good uncanny feeling I found out exactly what I needed. I most surely will make certain to do not fail to remember this web site and give it a glance on a continuing basis.
